The Vale Village

A room with a view

Home to half our community with approximately 3,500 students, The Vale is our largest student village. Famed for its stunning lakeside location and sociable atmosphere, it also boasts some brilliant study and social spaces.

    Here you’ll find our popular Duck & Scholar student bar; a Costcutter supermarket; and Shackleton Lounge, where you can relax with a book or get competitive over a board game with your flatmates. The Vale is also home to Vale Infusion – our largest student restaurant – making it a great place to live if you’ve opted into Student Living Plus. Everything is an easy stroll from campus, through leafy, well-lit, and student-friendly surroundings.

    Places to go, people to see

    The University’s athletics track, Winterbourne House and Garden (free entry with valid student ID), and Worcester and Birmingham Canal are all nearby – so there are lots of things to enjoy on your doorstep. And, when you fancy going further afield, Birmingham City Centre is an easy bus ride away.

Absolutely perfect location for student halls. The Vale is an amazing place to meet new people and make friends, as well as chill in the park and on the lake. I can’t recommend it enough.
