The University of Birmingham Student Living team has been awarded the Gold Investor in Students (IIS) accreditation, marking a significant milestone in its commitment to delivering an exceptional student living experience.
This prestigious award, the highest recognition in the sector, reflects the University’s commitment to providing a safe, supportive and enriching environment for students living in university-owned accommodation sites.
The Investor in Students accreditation, governed by University accommodation experts WAU, is based on a comprehensive 360-degree evaluation, incorporating feedback from both students and staff.
With Res Life activities, 24/7 security and responsive maintenance, we work hard to create a supportive environment where they can flourish and succeed – and it’s fantastic to see that recognised. A huge thanks to everyone in Student Living, and across the University and the Guild of Students, who have contributed to us achieving our new gold accreditation.
The University’s Student Living team operates across The Vale, Selly Oak, and Pritchatts Park Villages, offering a wide range of services and support. From free sports activities to social gatherings and dedicated wellbeing ambassadors, this recognition is a testament to the dedication of our hardworking staff across the University.
The Gold award follows two annual surveys of all students living in University-owned accommodation. This year’s survey results saw a net promotor score of 45.1, from over 1,200 student responses, a strong indicator of student satisfaction and willingness to recommend University of Birmingham accommodation to others.
Amy Church, Head of Student Living at the University of Birmingham, said: “We’re thrilled that our students love living in halls, where they can embrace everything university life has to offer.”
