Course Structure
Our 4-year programme includes core modules that will equip you with specialised skills in psychology, while providing knowledge of business management, and transferable skills necessary to apply this knowledge in new and challenging contexts.
Foundation year

Experience a supportive university environment during your foundation year in Dubai, ensuring you’re ready to begin your undergraduate studies. When completed with at least 100 credits, you’re guaranteed progression to the BSc Business Management with Psychology. You'll cover academic skills, quantitative methods for business and economics and more.
Year 1

Now that you have built a strong foundation, you're ready to explore key psychological concepts. The first year helps you secure a strong grounding in core Business Management principles. Explore the human mind and behaviour through two engaging Psychology modules: Introduction to Psychobiology and Cognitive Psychology.
Year 2
Year 2
Deepen your expertise in responsible business and psychological specialisation. Broaden your understanding of responsible business practices while exploring the role of research in shaping your field. Specialise further through focused modules and two new Psychology topics: Language and Communication and Social and Cognitive Development.
Year 3

In your final year, engage with advanced business management modules while maintaining a broad perspective. Deepen your psychological insight through two specialist modules: Adult Neuropsychological Syndromes and Psychology of Popular Media Culture. Complete your journey with a compulsory Business dissertation, demonstrating your expertise in an area of your choice.

Course delivery
Engage in small class sizes, personalised one-to-one sessions with your tutor and learn from academics in the UK and Dubai.
- You’ll learn by attending lectures, small group classes to further your understanding of material covered in lectures. You’ll work in groups and make presentations, both skills that are valued by employers.
- 30 hours weekly contact time. The remainder will be self-guided study based on content and requirement of specific modules.
Your progress is assessed through coursework and exams. Coursework takes a variety of forms, including reports, essays, group presentations, class essays and computer assignments. You must achieve satisfactory results to proceed to the next year. Your final degree is based on marks gained in the third and fourth years and credits which you build up throughout the whole programme.

Entry requirements
To secure your place at the University of Birmingham Dubai, you must meet both our general entry requirements and the specific criteria for your chosen course. Your application will be carefully reviewed by the course’s Admissions Tutor, who will determine if you will receive an offer.
Typical offer: BBC-BCC
The Foundation Pathways are suitable if you've completed your high school education to a high standard and you'd normally require a foundation year before being eligible for first-year undergraduate entry to UK universities.
English language requirements
In order to undertake a programme of study here at the University, you will need to demonstrate that you have a good level of written and spoken English. You can demonstrate your level of English with IELTS/TOEFL/PTE or alternative qualifications.
Fees and scholarships
The University tuition fee covers the cost of your tuition, examination and graduation.

The above fee applies to the Foundation Year only. The subsequent year's annual tuition fee will be AED 124,343
Paying your tuition fees
We charge an annual tuition fee (per year of study). The tuition fee will also be payable in subsequent years of your programme.
Tuition fees can be paid in full or in three instalments per year of study.
