Experience a supportive university environment during your foundation year in Dubai, ensuring you’re ready to begin your undergraduate studies. When completed with at least 100 credits, you’re guaranteed progression to the BSc Business Management with Placement. You'll cover academic skills, quantitative methods for business and economics and more.
Year 1
Year 1
You'll build a solid foundation of business management skills suited to the UAE region and worldwide. You will complete 7 core modules and 2 compulsory Ministry of Education modules.
Year 2
Year 2
In your third year, you'll dive into real-world challenges as you enhance your management skills and understanding of responsible business. You'll explore the human resource management landscape on a national and international level, and gain a competitive advantage by exploring business practices and retail strategies tailored to modern organisations.
Year 3

In your final year, you’ll advance your knowledge with specialised modules in marketing, crisis management, business strategies in emerging economies, and entrepreneurship. You will also complete a dissertation on a topic that interests you. If you complete work experience over the summer, you can choose the Professional Development module in place of one of the third year taught modules.

Course delivery

Your progress is assessed through coursework and exams. Coursework takes a variety of forms, including reports, essays, group presentations, class essays and computer assignments. You must achieve satisfactory results to proceed to the next year. Your final degree is based on marks gained in the third and fourth years and credits which you build up throughout the whole programme.

Entry requirements
To secure your place at the University of Birmingham Dubai, you must meet both our general entry requirements and the specific criteria for your chosen course. Your application will be carefully reviewed by the course’s Admissions Tutor, who will determine if you will receive an offer.
The Foundation Pathways are suitable if you've completed your high school education to a high standard and you'd normally require a foundation year before being eligible for first-year undergraduate entry to UK universities.
English language requirements
In order to undertake a programme of study here at the University, you will need to demonstrate that you have a good level of written and spoken English. You can demonstrate your level of English with IELTS/TOEFL/PTE or alternative qualifications.
Fees and scholarships
The University tuition fee covers the cost of your tuition, examination and graduation.

Paying your tuition fees
We charge an annual tuition fee (per year of study). The tuition fee will also be payable in subsequent years of your programme.
